Two of the most common searches around this mod are Sodium Extra Mod MCPE and Sodium Extra Mod Bedrock. Both deserve a direct answer rather than a page that dances around it: neither exists, and neither is coming.
Why Bedrock cannot run it
Minecraft ships as two separate games that happen to share a name. Java Edition is written in Java and has a long history of community modding built on that. Bedrock Edition — the version on mobile, console, and the Windows Store — is written in C++ with a closed add-on system that Microsoft controls.
Sodium Extra is not a texture pack or a settings file. It modifies Java Edition's rendering internals through Fabric, a loader that exists only for Java. There is no Fabric on Bedrock, no equivalent hook to attach to, and no supported way to load third-party code into the client. Porting the mod would mean rewriting a different game.
What the "MCPE versions" actually are
Search results will show you APK files, "mod installer" apps and video thumbnails promising this mod on Pocket Edition. Treat all of them as unsafe. In practice they fall into a few categories:
- Repackaged APKs that ask for permissions no game needs and frequently carry adware or worse.
- Resource packs renamed to match the search term, which do nothing related to this mod.
- Survey and ad gates where the download never arrives at all.
Installing an unofficial APK to chase a mod that cannot exist is a bad trade at any price. Nothing on this site links to one.
What Bedrock players can do instead
Bedrock is not without options — they are just built into the game rather than added to it.
Use the built-in video settings
Render distance is by far the biggest lever, followed by the graphics mode and, on mobile, the resolution scale if your device exposes one. These are the same levers Sodium Extra exposes on Java; Bedrock simply gives you fewer of them.
Consider lightweight resource packs
Packs that reduce texture resolution or simplify particle textures can help on weak mobile hardware. They work within the supported add-on system, so they are safe to install from the in-game marketplace or a reputable source.
Close background applications
On phones and tablets, thermal throttling and background apps affect frame rate more than any single setting. This is unglamorous advice, but on mid-range mobile hardware it is often the largest single improvement available.
