An independent reference site for a single Minecraft mod, written by people who got tired of searching for straight answers.
Why this site exists
Searching for information about a Minecraft mod usually produces three kinds of result: a video that takes eleven minutes to say one sentence, an aggregator page wrapping a download in advertising, and a forum thread from four versions ago. None of them tell you whether the file you are about to download will actually load.
This site covers one mod properly. What it does, what it needs, which versions exist, what to change once it is installed, and what to do when it will not start. If a question has an uncomfortable answer — such as the absence of any Bedrock version — we give the uncomfortable answer rather than padding a page around it.
How we write
Every guide follows the same rules:
- Say the answer first. Context afterwards, if it is genuinely useful.
- Prefer the official source. Where release builds are published matters more than where a search engine sends you.
- Be explicit about uncertainty. When support for a loader or version depends on the specific build, we say so rather than guessing.
- Never recommend a download we would not run ourselves.
Our relationship to the mod
None. We do not develop Sodium Extra, we do not host modified copies of it, and we are not affiliated with its developers, with Mojang Studios or with Microsoft. Sodium Extra is an open-source project maintained by its own community, and the download link on this site points at that project's official repository.

Keeping pages current
Minecraft mods move quickly. Version numbers, loader support and option names all change between releases, and a guide that was correct a year ago may not be today. We revise pages when the underlying facts change, and we date each guide so you can judge for yourself how fresh it is.
If you find something out of date or wrong, tell us. Corrections from readers are the fastest way this site improves — the address is on the contact page.
